Wow it's February already

         πŸ’–

It's so great that every day is getting longer and we can all look forward to the nice weather heading our way.

So February is starting out with some snow and Ground Hog Day in Canada showered us with the good news... from:  Fred la marmotte in QuebecShubenacadie Sam and Lucy the Lobster in N.S, and Van Isle Violet in B.C all agreeing on Groundhog Day...  6 more weeks of winter.... grrrr. Well, we shouldn't be surprised, we live in Canada, eh!

January

Our meeting in January was so much fun.   3 of our members, Linda, Anita and Karen did a trunk show.  Its nice to see the talent we have in our Guild.

Sue talked about the upcoming Quilt show. There was a meeting before the meeting of the quilt show committee and all though I wasn't there I did see that there seems to be lots of volunteers excited to help. Sue planned a sew day on the following Saturday but Friday they took her off the hospital to repair her broken foot.  She still had the sew day on Saturday, and although her foot broncittis have set her back, she is still working hard at getting kits ready.  What a Woman!

Kathy Tidswell workshop

I talked about the Presidents challenge, and there are still plans for the class before the meeting this month. I've asked Sue several times if she wanted to cancel but so far she hasn't said yes.  All the information was in my January post for that class but I will add it to the bottom of this post.

Sheila had a sign up sheet for the workshop in March with Kathy Tidswell, on thread painting,  so if you are interested in going to that workshop get in touch with Sheila.

Or sign up at the February meeting. There will be a trunk show of Kathy's work at the March meeting as well.

And if that's not enough, the girls at the membership table asked for people to sign up for each months snacks and helpers and that went amazing.  Thanks ladies for volunteering! And Sarah did a great job with show and tell.

Here's some show and tell from the January Meeting

I think it will be fun and if it storms... we will do it on zoom! A link will be sent out to everyone by 4 o'clock that afternoon

February's color is red!  Well of course it is... my birth month and my favorite colour!

Quilt show

Sue is working away at plans for our quilt show on April 26th and 27!  She hobbles down her stairs to her sewing room, and is making up kits for the boutique!  Sue can always use an extra set of hands, so if you have some free time send her an email. She will be glad to have the help! Sue's email

Sue is still in need of Raffle items and dream basket items. She could still use baskets.

Red Team

The Red team will be bringing treats and I'll surprise you with a new face for show and tell...

Special Project

I'll have a new Special Project and will send out links to both the zoom and the notes (on drop box) so you won't miss it if you are a member.

Executive

I know it's early, but we have a couple of executive positions coming up in June... Treasurer (we have an interested member), Communications and Secretary.   Any one interested in any of these positions please see Sheila at any of the upcoming meetings.

Stitch and Chat

Once again there will be a stitch and chat on Wednesday from 12 to 2, all are welcome! This is a great opportunity to get to know other members of the Guild. I found that out last month when I met Sylvia and we chatted about all kind of things until I had to run off to my Doctors appt.  Some joined at one and I heard they had a great time! Here's the zoom link...  Zoom link for Stitch and Chat

Programs

Sheila and Jean have arranged a workshop before the March meeting called "Flowers with Threads" with Kathy Tidswell. Here is some info:
